Travel Trade Support Executive


The Travel Trade Support Executive – Southern Africa is responsible for supporting the team of Account Managers, Account Directors and GSAs located in the assigned territories through timely and accurate delivery of a series of administrative tasks.

The role is responsible for keeping in regular contact with the Customers managed by the team of Account Manager/Directors and GSAs within the geographic markets, assisting them with conversion of FIT and MICE enquiries, special and specific requests, investigations on unpaid commissions, market reports etc.

The role is responsible for preparing crafted proposals and offers for groups quotes as directed by the managers, using relevant BI tools, Infohub and information at hand or from properties.

The role is responsible for keeping in constant contact with the Customers in all relevant markets, to follow progress of all groups negotiations, and updating OSC and all account management systems with up to date and accurate information about productivity and account performance.

The role is also required to have regular communications with the sales teams at property level, to ensure the information provided to Customers is always relevant, current and personalized.

The purpose of this role is to alleviate the administrative burden from the above property sales teams as and where possible and necessary, allowing them to effectively concentrate on business development and revenue generation to meet pre-set quarterly and annual targets/goals.

Another important purpose of this role is a personal contribution to enhance the overall Customer experience by minimizing the time elapsing between a Customer request and the elaboration of a personalized answer and constant, relevant communications with customer from someone within market or same time zone.

The assigned geographic territories, market and industry segments, and main location for the role are subject to change with a 4-week notice depending on the Company’s needs and variable market conditions.

  • Qualification / Education or equivalent in a Sales and/or Hospitality field.
  • Minimum 1-2-years’ experience in luxury sector (Hospitality, Retail, Travel, Events).
  • Some Operational Experience in the Luxury Hospitality/Retail/MICE sector (Front of House, Food & Beverage, MICE agencies, Airline/cruise lines).
  • Knowledge of South African and/or African Travel sector. Middle East Travel market knowledge seen as a plus.
  • Experience with CRM systems within a Luxury brand environment, preferably regional or on property.
  • Experience of being part of and working within a successful, target driven team.
  • Experience of traveling within Southern Africa, Middle East and possibly elsewhere globally.
  • Experience in a customer centric organisation preferred.
  • Experience of supporting colleagues who are office based and/or working remotely.
  • Computer proficiency with a strong emphasis on Microsoft office applications including WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT. Some CRM knowledge
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise simultaneous projects and tasks, with a focus on ensuring deadlines are met and able to work under pressure.
  • A professional standard of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines.
